Edward is a senior project and programme manager and has enjoyed a career in the IT and business sector, acquiring extensive business and managerial experience in a multinational corporate environment. He has over 25 years experience in the field of Business Management, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing and Technology Research.
He was also chairman of the UK Data Storage Network, a DTI sponsored network bringing together over 150 members in 40 organisations in the UK.
His interest and involvement in the small to medium sized business environment led to him to be invited to be a Group Facilitator with the Business Link Wessex PLATO programme for five years assisting business owner managers to develop growth strategies.
Edward has also led the formation of technology based consortia across Europe to win research projects funded by the European Commission. He has acted as project manager and has extensive experience in working with Brussels to achieve high levels of success and funding for partners. He has worked with a large number of academic and commercial organisations and has a wide network of collaborators.
With his strong management and analytical skills, Edward will take an end to end systems approach to evaluating your complex business, organisational, “Go to Market” and funding needs.
Since March 2009 Eddie Townsend has acted as Collaboration Domain Expert for the Digital Communications Knowledge Transfer Network. In this role Eddie builds collaborative links between members and assists members to become involved in the EU Commission Framework Programme, FP7 by hosting events and workshops.
